Perfect Cardi/Top
I've Been Waiting...
For this cute store to open. Pas de Deux, a sister store to Odin in the East Village recently opened and I can’t wait to check it out. The super star designer line-up includes Rag and Bone, Alexander Wang, Clu, Loeffler Randall shoes, Coming Soon by Yohji, and Phillip Lim. More TK when I actually go!
Return to Sender
Remember this post? Well it is a thing of the past. Mayle is no longer. Fall 2008 was her last collection. Now I just need to get my hands on a piece before its gone forever…

Je t'aime Paris
The past week me and some co-workers gather around the computer screen, set the tone music (dj kiki kang aka jenny kills it) anticipating each show as they are posted on style.com or elle.com. All have been pretty amazing! Lagerfeld kept things his way..all the looks were feminine tuxedo style just as he would do it. And Dries did grids in all the right directions. I loved Comme Des Garcons, Anne...

Milan and Marni
Milan Fashion Week is now over and everyday I’ve been popping on style.com to watch the shows and then check out detailed pics of accessories, styling, make up, and hair. Marni showed yesterday and of course is amaze! I love the simplicity as always but this season the polka dot print/cut outs and shear fabrics added an extra bop to the collection!
New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion week has been over for a week now and I am finally getting back to normal and having a free minute to blog about it! Sadly, something is wrong with my camera or preview in my computer and I can’t get my pics to upload! But oh well, this is where style.com comes in handy! All the events and shows were really fun and exciting! Some shows were total hits and others were total...

I Am Not Asking For Much..
from the resort 2009 collections but I would love a few Thakoon pieces…ie this jumper. Kinda dying over it!
Check Out
Style.com got a new face. The entire site has been redone, revamped, and reconstructed to make it better, faster, and easier to use! Check it out here.
Now That I Know..
about Comme des Garcons and H&M, I had to dissect. Luckily, Jenny, our Associate Fashion Editor, had a lookbook on CD-Rom. The collection really is amazing and totally keeps the integrity of Comme Des Garcons and Rei Kawakubo. So here are a few fav looks from Lucky…
Jenny..the shorts. So cute and comfortable. She pulls off bagginess so well with her petite figure!

The Last to Know
Why am I the last to know, of all the people with love and commitment to Comme des Garcons, that they are teaming up with H&M for a line this fall????? I am so excited!! Read on Wmagazine.com
You've Got Mayle
JK. But I wish I did. LaGarconne.com just added some new pieces that are AMAZING. I love it and wish it was 1/2 the price.
Looks like you just woke up..Priceless..
I always kinda smirk at that MasterCard commercial. The guy is decked but trying so hard to look like he just rolled out of bed. He still somehow looks like the rest of the hipsters standing in line for a show. I always wonder if the stylist for this commercial only used Alexander Wang, because it screams it. A. Wang began out of college and created collection after collection of grunge indie...

New Structure
Eden Blake, a new designer, to hit the market, as well as the Lucky fashion closet has found a way to create structured but feminine pieces. I think it is tough to design structured clothing that is easy to wear off the runway. YSL and Alessandro Dell’Aqua do it VERY well on the runway but Heather Menzie Gressette, the designer behind Eden Blake, seems to have done it right off the runway...
The Fedora
Last summer I tried to make the fedora hat work for me and just felt the look on me wasn’t cutting it. This summer I tried once again, (although I understood I was still a little late on the trend..) still wasn’t working for me. My features are too large and my hair is too short. And now again, I am tempted to try and make it work. Daily Candy posted about this designer, who seems...

Cut and Paste
Today Fashionista posted about “complete looks” becoming an editorial layout. I had to agree with the post, I have been really disappointed the past few months with some issues. It’s like editors are cutting and pasting the style from style.com to a grey background. While I don’t mind an entire look, I believe it keeps the designer’s integrity of the collection,...
A Wang Sample Sale
The much anticipated Alexander Wang Sample Sale started today. Crazed shoppers crowded in right at 9am for the media private sale. Prices were not as low as expected, tee shirts at about $100 and jackets $250. The coveted denim cut off shorts, which were promised, weren’t anywhere to be seen…bummer. But a few good scores, pants for $100 and some great pieces from the runway. The...

CFDA Announced...
CFDA nominees are announced and I am in love with most of the lineup! Dries, A Wang, Thakoon, the darling Proenza Schouler duo, the Rodarte sisters, and Marc Jacobs (which I am a little disappointed with, I don’t think last year was a strong year for MJ, plus my love/hate is turning more into a hate) was nominated for both accessory and womenswear. Winners are announced on June 2 in NYC! ...
Target at Barney's
This past weekend Rogan launched his new Target line at Barney’s. There has been some debate on the Target/Barney’s collaboration, the image it portrays, the sales productivity, etc. I think it is such a great combo! Living in the city you don’t get out to Target much so bringing Target to us seems pretty thoughtful! I think NY retail scene is good for a piece of this cute,...
SJP
The Sex and the City cast went on the Oprah Show last week and I couldn’t get over how amazing SJP looked. She never fails me! Of course, the whole cast looked amaze and didn’t spill one juicy detail about the movie. Can’t wait for May 30!

Fashion Art
Parson’s New School of Design and Academy of Art University San Francisco sure understand the theory of art in fashion. The student’s fashion shows were remarkably crafted and artistically styled. This is my fav look! WWD.com showcases…
#2 for P Lim
Phillip Lim is opening his second flagship store in Toyko, with a boutique party tonight and opening to the public Saturday April 26. The store’s aesthetics, including baroque touches, mirrored fixtures, and an ascending stair case, look drastically different than the minimalist SOHO outpost, but is reported to be inspired from his apartment. I like the touch of individuality.
Love
My new fav item right now are these Acne gladiator sandals. They are a perfectly acceptable snakeskin, which can be hard to come by and are low enough on the ankle that they will still be flattering. Love Love.
Deadly Ponies
One of my ultra stylish coworkers introduced me to this designer, Deadly Ponies. This New Zealand accessories label is as chic as the grunge genre gets. I absolutely love the bags, from the loose hobos to the structural messenger totes, they are all super unique downtown totes!
A White Shirt Contest
Ok, it’s not a contest but I kinda feel like it is when I am chosing which designer’s style of white blouse to purchase. This years winners of the CFDA awards have once again collaborated with the Gap to create the signature white blouse with their unique high design flare. Ads are plastered all over fashion news today, as the opening day of the shirts on sale at Gap stores and...
Avery
I am loving Avery! A friend sent me his blog link..this dreamy Swede and overly exuberant gay fashionista conglomerates indie chic and designer references. He showcases an amazing Ann Demuelemester jacket/cardigan as well as his own boots which he spray-painted gold! His quirky humility and not so serious writing is quite entertaining. I also have to give him props for photography. All in...
In Need of Something New..
I think any person involved with fashion thinks they always need something new. I am definitely guilty. Along with always thinking I need something new, I am always thinking I need a new designer to LOVE (of course I am always picky, the pickiness creates individual style). Today Daily Candy posted MATSU, a new line by a Parson’s grad, which I absolutely LOVE. It seems to be a marriage...
Taking the Shirt off Another Man's Back
Barney’s, Loomstate, and the Sundance Channel have all teamed up to promote a greener COOP. You can take your old tee shirts to the COOP, get 20% off on any Loomstate tees, then go back before the 2008 holiday season and re buy you old tee shirt in a whole new form. Old tee shirts will be redyed and restructed into new recycled tee shirts. I am all for the ecofriendly, greener lifestyle,...

Are celebrities becoming the next generation of...
Today, WWD did a two-page spread on the lists of celebs doing either their own fashion line or collaborating with another company designing a line. Although this trend isn’t the newest thing to hit the block, it is definitely still stirring the fashion scene. With most “real” fashion designers sales down, retailers are definitely grasping on to anything that can sell. And of...
Disappointment...
YSL seems to have missed a boat and are paddling to catch it… In 2001 Elle Woods (Legally Blonde) made the Tiffany’s bracelet infamous, with the logo and chain links. Fashionista just reported that now YSL is trying to catch up. Seems funny that YSL, a major French fashion house, would take such a step back..I am deeply disappointed by their lack of normal orginality. These $56...

Marimekko Prints at H&M
Marimekko, the finnish textile and fashion company, is collaborating with H&M for a line to hit stores April 10. Being a huge fan of Marimekko’s prints as stationery, or possibly an umbrella, I don’t know if I could wear the bold print on my body. But with the extremely low price point and thorough collection there is bound to be something for everyone… A swimsuit or...
Macy's All Encompassing Ad Campaign
Macy’s spring commercial campaign will feature their partnering celebs, including Mariah Carey, Santana, Gabriel Aubrey, as well as Donald Trump and Martha Stewart (trying to overlook the contention?)! The campaign will began airing this Sunday and is a bold attempt to promote the stores’ various departments. Each celeb represents their label, showing off how diverse the store and...
7 hours, 25 Min, and Counting...
The best of resin… Marni’s spring ‘08 jewelry is the chicest of this season, and this fab necklace is awaiting a purchase on ebay as we speak. Bright colors and geometric shapes make this bold piece of jewelry a distinct compliment. So you better hope to it..I may beat you to the punch!
Biz that Creates Buzz
The boutique that started the retail buzz on Ludlow is still pushing the fashion retail biz forward. Fifteen years ago, when TG170 opened, Ludlow was nothing but tattoo parlors and graffiti walls; today it is a row of eclectic boutiques and hit or miss restaurants. TG170 continues to be a go-to spot for New York indie girl as well as many noted editors and fashion photographers. The store...
TSE is officially a "downtowner"
TSE relocated their flagship boutique to SOHO this past week. The new location, Wooster just south of Prince, was obvious to Augustine Tse, CEO, who sees a strong downtown customer base. The label is pushing forward in the fashion arena (this season you can find something other than a cashmere cardigan) with a new head, Tess Giberson, a new downtown post, and their stepchild line TSESAY. The...

Margiela's Next Step...
Maison Martin Margiela has signed with L’Oreal to produce a signature fragrance to be in stores Fall ‘09. As usual for Margiela, the aroma is promised to be something out of the ordinary. Just three months ago, Margiela debuted his first sunglasses collection which looked like black rectangles across the face (possibly to remind us of his own mysterious self?). Maybe something of a...
In SOHO and in need of a restroom?
J. Crew I’m terribly sorry to let the secret out, I just couldn’t help it. It’s clean and convinent, located on the lower level of J. Crew on Prince between Mercer and Greene.

A Balenciaga Balance
Nicolas Ghesquière opened his first Los Angeles boutique with inspiration, it seems, from his Spring 08 collection. A balance between science fiction and organic influences sound familiar? We all remember Balenciaga’s influential spring ‘08 collection which consisted of futuristic shapes and punch floral prints. His interior at the new Melrose Ave outpost is...
